Montecalvo Set to Kick Off Sixth IMSA WeatherTech Season with Vasser Sullivan

Thursday, January 18, 2024 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to take on the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech Championship in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3. 2024 marks Montecalvo’s sixth season driving the No. 12 in the GT Daytona class with Vasser Sullivan.

Montecalvo will be joined by Parker Thompson for the full season, Aaron Telitz for the five endurance rounds, and the reigning 2023 Super Formula and Super GT500 Champion, Ritomo Miyata, for the Rolex 24.

“I’m incredibly excited to be back with Vasser Sullivan and Lexus Racing for a sixth season and to get the 2024 Championship started this week at the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona,” said Montecalvo.

Montecalvo closed out the 2023 Championship third in the GTD class. He is hopeful that 2024 will be the year he brings the GTD Championship home with Vasser Sullivan in the No. 12 Lexus.

“I feel like the way we finished the season last year was another step towards our championship goal. We showed great pace on track. Our team and crew have stayed mostly the same, so we’re all ready to get the year going and start fighting for the 2024 championship.”

“It’s great to have Parker back for the full season. He was a tremendous asset to our lineup last year, and I’m looking forward to sharing the car with him all season. Having Aaron for the endurance rounds is fantastic. He knows the car inside and out, so having the experience and knowledge for those rounds will be huge. Ritomo is new to our car this year, but we’re excited to have him join for the Rolex 24. This will be his first time at Daytona, but with his experience, I have no doubt he’ll be up to speed in the first session.”

“I’m looking forward to turning our first laps this week at the Roar Before the 24. We have a new livery to share with all the fans, so I can’t wait to get back on track. The Vasser Sullivan crew have been working hard in the off season to get us ready for these next two weeks, so now it’s time for us to finish all the preparations this week at the Roar and be ready to win a Rolex next Sunday!”

On track action for the Roar Before the 24 starts Friday, January 19 and continues through the weekend. Each day will feature multiple practice sessions, and the weekend will conclude with Qualifying for the Rolex 24 on Sunday. You can watch Qualifying live on Sunday, January 21 at 1:50 PM ET on the Peacock app or IMSA.tv. Don’t forget to follow Frankie on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with all of his racing news.
