Thursday, July 30, 2026 — ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Frankie Montecalvo returns to one of the most meaningful tracks of his IMSA career this weekend as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads to Road America for the newly restored six-hour endurance race.
Montecalvo will once again join the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 alongside full-season drivers Aaron Telitz and Benjamin Pedersen, looking to capitalize on the momentum built throughout the Michelin Endurance Cup season. The event marks the championship’s return to a six-hour format at the iconic Wisconsin circuit, a race that is expected to feature a 54-car field across all classes.
Road America has been a special venue for Montecalvo throughout his career. The New Jersey native earned his first IMSA victory at the 4.048-mile circuit in 2020 and has continued to find success there, making the track one he eagerly anticipates every season.
“I’m always excited when we get to Road America,” said Montecalvo. “It’s one of the best road courses in North America and a place that has given me some incredible memories. Getting my first IMSA win there makes it even more special.”
“With the race returning to six hours, strategy, execution and staying out of trouble become even more important. I have a lot of confidence in this Vasser Sullivan team, and I’m looking forward to getting back in the Lexus RC F with Aaron and Ben to fight for another strong result.”
The legendary Road America circuit is renowned for its high-speed straights, technical braking zones and demanding layout, providing one of the toughest endurance tests on the IMSA calendar. With six hours of racing ahead, traffic management, pit strategy and flawless teamwork will all play a critical role in determining the outcome.
“We completed a successful test at Road America recently, so I feel confident that the team has been hard at work to ensure we get the most out of the car for the start of the weekend. I can’t wait to get back on track on Friday. With two endurance rounds remaining, we’ll be pushing for maximum points and to bring home another win for the #12 car.”
On track action for the Sportscar Endurance Grand Prix begins Friday and continues through the weekend.
