P11 Finish for Montecalvo at Petit Le Mans

Monday, October 5, 2026 –  Braselton, GA – Frankie Montecalvo and the Vasser Sullivan team were forced to overcome an early setback in Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, with contact causing the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 to need extensive repairs and ultimately resulting in an 11th-place finish in the GTD class.

Montecalvo was behind the wheel of the No. 12 Lexus when an LMP2 car contacted him. The contact broke the Lexus’ rear tow link, forcing the car back to the pit lane in order for the Vasser Sullivan crew to make the necessary repairs to get the car back on track.

The Vasser Sullivan team quickly went to work in the pit lane, making the needed repairs and getting the No. 12 Lexus back into the race as fast as possible. However, the extended stop left the team 12 laps down to the class leaders.

“It was a tough day for us in the No. 12 car when contact from another competitor forced us back to the pit lane to repair the damage,” said Montecalvo.

“I left space for the car to pass, but unfortunately, he still made contact with me, which resulted in the rear tow link breaking. I was able to limp the car back to the pit lane where the crew went to work to make the repairs needed to get us back out on track. The Vasser Sullivan crew proved once again why they are the best in the business and had me back out as fast as possible.”

“We went 12 laps down which took us out of contention for a fight for the podium, but we still did everything we could to make up laps during the numerous caution periods and reclaim as many positions as we could.”

“I can’t thank Aaron and Ben and the entire Vasser Sullivan team enough for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. I’m so proud to be a part of this team and everything that we have accomplished this year. I’m looking forward to some down time and finalizing my racing plans for the 2027 season!”
