Montecalvo Ready to Take On Watkins Glen

Thursday, June 22, 2023 – Highlands, NJ – After more than a month since the last round of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is looking forward to getting back to the track for the next round of racing at Watkins Glen.

The Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen marks the beginning of the second half of the IMSA season as well as the third round of the Michelin Endurance Cup Championship. Parker Thompson will join Montecalvo and full season co-driver Aaron Telitz to complete the line-up for the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3.

“I’m excited to get back to Watkins Glen for the third round of the Michelin Endurance Championship and to kick off the summer stretch of the season,” said Montecalvo.

“Watkins Glen is a high-speed circuit that suits our Lexus RC F GT3 well. We’ve had success there in the past, so we’re hoping for a positive result this weekend.”

“It’s great to have Parker back in the car with Aaron and me. I think we have one of the strongest line-ups on the grid in the No. 12 car, and I’m looking forward to turning our first laps of the weekend on Friday.”

“The Vasser Sullivan and Lexus Racing crews have been working tirelessly to get our car set up and ready to take on The Glen. Our team has been functioning flawlessly in the pits, and while we had a bit of bad luck at Laguna Seca, I’m hopeful we’re able to show what our Lexus is truly capable of at the Glen.”

“We have a solid driver line-up, the best crew in the business, and a car that loves the Glen. If we can have a clean start, run consistent laps, and minimize our time in the pits, I think we have a great shot at a podium finish when the checkered flag flies on Sunday.”

On track action for the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen kicks off on Friday, June 23 and continues through the weekend. The green flag flies on Sunday, June 25 at 10:40 AM EDT. You can watch Frankie race live on the Peacock App with coverage beginning at 10:30 AM EDT. You can also tune in at 2:00 PM EDT to the USA Network to catch the final hours of the race.
