Thursday, April 10, 2025 – Highlands, NJ – After a second-place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is looking forward to continued success at the Long Beach Grand Prix this weekend. Montecalvo was originally set to only race the IMSA WeatherTech endurance rounds for 2025, but when the opportunity arose to field a second Lexus RC F GT3 at the 50th running of the grand prix, Montecalvo was up to the challenge.
Montecalvo will race alongside Aaron Telitz for the 100-minutes sprint race. The duo has contested the race together before in 2022 and 2023 resulting in two third-place finishes. The goal this weekend is to keep their podium streak at the beach alive.
“I’m incredibly excited to be able to race at the Long Beach Grand Prix in the No. 89 Lexus RC F GT3 alongside Aaron,” said Montecalvo.
“I always love going back to Long Beach. It’s a phenomenal circuit that produces great racing. It’s a short weekend for us, but the atmosphere is incredible. The Lexus operates well there scoring two victories in the last two years. Aaron and I have scored a pair of third place finishes the last two times we’ve driven together there, so I think it should be a strong weekend for Lexus and Vasser Sullivan.”
“The Long Beach circuit is always tricky to make passes at any time in the weekend, but especially during the race, so qualifying and limiting our time in the pits will be critical. The Vasser Sullivan crew is the best in the business, so I have no doubt we’ll roll off the truck strong and be ready for anything this weekend. I’m looking forward to kicking things off Friday morning and absolutely cannot wait for the green flag to fly on Saturday afternoon.”
On track action for Montecalvo begins Friday, April 11 with two practices and qualifying. The green flag flies for the race on Saturday, April 12 at 5:05 PM ET. You can watch the race live with coverage beginning at 5:00 PM ET on USA Network and the Peacock app. Don’t forget to follow Frankie on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with broadcast times and all of Frankie’s racing news.
