Montecalvo Ready to Take on The 12 Hours of Sebring

Tuesday, March 12, 2024 – Highlands, NJ – After more than a month since the first round of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship at the Rolex 24, Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to get back to racing at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring.

The No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 saw an unfortunate end to their Rolex 24 after twenty-three hours of racing, but the Vasser Sullivan crew have been working tirelessly to get the car prepped and ready to race for the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday.

“It’s great to get back to Sebring for the twelve hour. We’ve had a little over a month since the Rolex 24, so everyone is beyond ready to get back to racing,” said Montecalvo.

“We tested at Sebring a few weeks ago and the car performed well. It’s always difficult to get a good gauge at Sebring as the conditions this time of year are so variable, but it was valuable to get some laps in and work on the set up for the car for this weekend.”

“I must give a massive thank you to the entire Vasser Sullivan crew. The guys have done a phenomenal job to get the car prepped and ready for the event. They had a bit of extra work after the Rolex 24 with the fire at the end of the race, but they’ve replaced all the components that needed to be fixed. After testing, we feel the that we’ll roll of the truck strong when sessions start on Thursday.”

“The GTD field is one of the largest that I can remember with twenty-two entries. It’s going to be extremely competitive, but I feel that we have a solid line-up in the No. 12 car with Parker Thompson, Aaron Telitz, and myself behind the wheel.”

“In all the years that I’ve been racing with Lexus at Sebring, the highest we’ve finished was last year with a fifth place. Traditionally, our car performs well at Sebring, and I have no doubt that it will do the same this year. Our goal is always the same – stay out of trouble, run a clean race, and minimize our time in the pits. If we can keep those goals, I think we have a solid chance to move a few positions higher than last year and have our first podium finish for the No. 12 at Sebring and for the 2024 season.”

On track action for Montecalvo begins Thursday, March 14 and continues through the weekend. You can watch the race live on Saturday, March 16 with flag-to-flag coverage on the Peacock App beginning at 9:30 AM ET. You can also watch live on USA Network with coverage starting at 4:00 PM ET.
