Montecalvo Ready to Take on Laguna Seca

Wednesday, April 27, 2022 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver, Frankie Montecalvo, is ready to take on the final race of IMSA’s west coast swing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Montecalvo and co-driver, Aaron Telitz, will pilot the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 in the first of the regular race distance events of the season at two hours and forty minutes.

“I’m very excited to go back to Laguna Seca for the next round of the IMSA Championship,” said Montecalvo.

“There’s no secret about the fact that Laguna is a circuit where we struggle because of the track surfacing and its abrasiveness on the tires. We tested there after Long Beach and learned a ton, which will help the Vasser Sullivan guys better prepare the car for the race.”

“Since the test, I know the guys have been fine tuning and making all the necessary adjustments to the car to make sure we’re able to roll off the truck with the best possible setup. I think with some good luck and steady running, we should have a solid result.”

“We saw at Long Beach that we weren’t necessarily the fastest car all weekend, but we were able to stay out of trouble, run consistent laps, and ultimately finish on the podium. If we can continue that strategy this weekend, I think we have a very strong chance of a top three finish.”

“I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel and kicking things off at Laguna on Friday. The team has great momentum rolling off a double podium finish at Long Beach, so I think we’re all hoping to continue that as we wrap up the California swing and start to get into the heart of the season. I have no doubt that we have the team, the car, and the line up to get us back to the podium at the end of the day on Sunday.”

On track action at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca begins Friday at 7:30 PM EDT and continues through the weekend.
