Wednesday, March 16, 2022— Highlands, NJ — Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to take on the Mobil-1 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 19 at Sebring International Raceway.
Montecalvo will be joined once again by Richard Heistand and Scott Andrews to complete the lineup for the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3.
“I’m very excited to get back to Sebring after more than a month since our last race at Daytona. The lineup will be slightly different as Scott Andrews will be joining me and Richard in the No. 12 car,” said Montecalvo.
“Historically, our car has performed well at Sebring. Last year we finished sixth, but only because we suffered contact. We lead the race at various stages before being hit from behind and ultimately taken out of contention for a podium.”
“The Vasser Sullivan crew is the best in the business, and they are always able to set up a car that is capable of handling the various bumps and thrive for the full twelve hours. We typically see a wide range of weather conditions when we’re at Sebring, and this year will be no different. We will likely see rain at some point this week followed by very warm temperatures on race day. Richard, Scott, and I will be ready to take it all on in our Lexus RC F GT3.”
“The team has done a phenomenal job to get the car prepped and ready after Daytona. We had a few productive days of testing in February, and I think we’re going to roll off the truck in a strong position.”
“I’ve finished on the podium here before but would love nothing more than to come away with a Sebring 12 win. If we can run a clean race and keep our time in the pits to a minimum, I have no doubt that we have the lineup and the car to come away with a victory Saturday night.”
On track action for the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring starts on Thursday, March 17, and continues through the weekend. The green flag flies on Saturday, March 19, at 10:10 AM EDT. You can watch Frankie race live with flag to flag coverage beginning at 10:00 AM EDT on the Peacock App. USA Network will also feature the race from 3:30 PM EDT through the checkered flag.
