Montecalvo Ready to Finish West Coast Swing Strong at Laguna Seca

Friday, May 10, 2024 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to take on fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. After a disappointing finish at Long Beach almost three weeks ago, Montecalvo is looking forward to rejoining forces with full season co-driver Parker Thompson and piloting the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 to a podium finish.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has implemented a host of upgrades to the circuit over the past year. One of the most notable changes is an entire repave of the track surface in 2023. Montecalvo and Thompson are anxious to see how the new pavement will affect the performance of their No. 12 Lexus in race conditions.

“It’s great to get back to Laguna Seca for the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech championship and the first of the two hour and forty-minutes endurance races of the season,” said Montecalvo.

“It will be interesting to see how our car handles the new track surface, especially under race conditions. We’ve tested there once, so we feel confident that we will be able to have our Lexus RC F GT3 in the optimal operating window. The crew put in a ton of work after the test to ensure that we will be able to roll off the truck and be competitive.”

“It’s great to be back with Parker this weekend and for the remainder of the season after switching co-drivers for Long Beach. We’re looking forward to getting back into the swing of things in the No. 12 car. It’s going to be an incredibly competitive field with 15 GTD entries, but I’m confident that Parker and I, along with all the Vasser Sullivan crew, will be able to have a strong weekend and start working our way to the top of the standings.”

On track action for Montecalvo begins Friday, May 10 and continues through the weekend. The green flag flies for the Motul Course de Monterey on Sunday, May 12 at 3:10 PM ET. You can watch Frankie race live with coverage beginning at 3:00 PM ET on NBC Network or on the Peacock App. Be sure to follow Frankie on Facebook and Twitterto stay up to date with current broadcast times and all of Frankie’s racing news.
