Montecalvo Ready for SprintX Rounds at CTMP

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 – Highlands, NJ – Always Evolving/AIM Autosport driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to head north of the border for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Series at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. There are 32 SprintX entries set to battle in two 60-minute, two-driver, one pit stop contests on the 10-turn, 2.458-mile road course northeast of Toronto.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP) with Always Evolving/AIM Autosport for Rounds 3 and 4 of the SprintX Series,” said Montecalvo.

“CTMP is probably my favorite North American track because it’s extremely fast, and there’s not a lot of room for error. I also love the flow of the track and think it will suit the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT-3 very well.”

“This will also be a home race for AIM Autosport, whose shop is located just outside or Toronto. We should have a good turn out for the race, and I think we’ll have a lot of local fans cheering us on.”

Montecalvo and teammate Ricardo Sanchez are set to take the wheel of the No. 75 Nissan machine on Friday for the only official practice session before qualifying at the end of the day. The duo scored a top five in class finish in Round 2 at Virginia International Raceway three weeks prior.

“After driving the Nissan GT-R at VIR a few weeks ago, I learned a ton about the car. I think CTMP will suit this car very well. VIR was the first time that I turned any laps in the car. I think now that I have a couple practices and two races under my belt, and know the characteristics of the car and what it likes, I’m going to feel a lot more confident going into the race weekend.”

“Ricardo and the entire team did a great job helping me get accustomed to the car at VIR, and we saw that the car was extremely fast.  We ran into a little bad luck in Race 1 at VIR and several yellow flags in Race 2, but I think this weekend, we will be ready to fight for a podium, and hopefully the win.”

On track action begins Friday, May 19 with Practice 1 at 11:50 AM EST followed by Qualifying at 4:55 PM EST.
