Montecalvo Looking Forward to Strong Weekend at Road America

Friday, August 5, 2022 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to take on America’s National Park of racetracks, Road America. The 4.048-mile Wisconsin circuit boasts 14-turns, high speeds, and is a favorite among many drivers, especially Montecalvo.

Montecalvo scored his first IMSA WeatherTech victory at Road America in 2020 and is hopeful to bring home another win this weekend with co-driver Aaron Telitz.

“I’m excited to get back to Road America with our No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3. This is one of my favorite stops on the calendar as the track itself is one of the best in the country, but Road America is also where I scored my first win in IMSA,” said Montecalvo.

“Road America has a lot of fast, sweeping corners, so it’s very highspeed and a ton of fun to drive. This track should suit the characteristics of our Lexus well, and I think we should have a great shot at a podium finish.”

“We’ve shown incredible pace over the last several races, and the team has executed flawlessly. Unfortunately, we’ve had some bad luck, so our results have not been reflective of how well the team and the car have been performing. We’re hoping to turn that around this weekend.”

“Going from the shortest track on the calendar at Lime Rock Park three weeks ago, to the longest at Road America, the team has had to make a lot of changes to get our car set up and ready to go for the weekend. I know everyone at Lexus and Vasser Sullivan has been working hard the last three weeks, and Aaron and I will be pushing as hard as we can to bring home a win for everyone.”

On track action for the IMSA Fastlane SportsCar Weekend at Road America will begin on Friday, August 5th and continue through the weekend. The green flag will fly at 11:40 AM ET on Sunday, August 7. You can watch Live on the Peacock App beginning at 11:40 AM ET or on USA Network with coverage starting at 12:00 PM ET. To stay up to date with current broadcast times and all of Frankie’s racing news, be sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
