Montecalvo in Search of First Podium of the 2024 Season at Road America

Wednesday, July 31, 2024 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is ready to take on the IMSA Sportscar Weekend at Road America.

Montecalvo and co-driver Parker Thompson have had a streak of top five finishes since the Detroit Grand Prix. However, the duo is hopeful to produce their first podium result of the 2024 season at Road America.

“I’m very excited to get back to Road America this weekend after a three-week break in the schedule since CTMP,” said Montecalvo.

“It will be interesting to see how the track surface has evolved since the repave last year. When we raced there in 2023, the pavement was brand new to everyone, so it was a challenge to be able to get the car set up properly. Having had a full race weekend there last year and a few test days earlier in the season at the circuit, we feel confident that we’ll be able to roll off the truck strong on Friday.”

“Road America is traditionally a highspeed circuit where our No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 performs well. I scored my first ever IMSA WeatherTech victory with Vasser Sullivan there in 2020. We have since finished on the podium or in the top five the last two seasons, so we know our car is strong there.”

“Our goal remains the same, and that is to roll off the truck strong, qualify well, minimize our time in the pits during the race, and hopefully come away with our first podium of the season and more points for Lexus in the championship. Everybody at Vasser Sullivan has been working so hard week in and week out to give us a great car every weekend, so Parker and I would love to show our appreciation for the team by delivering a podium result on Sunday.”
