Montecalvo Eager for First Win of the Season at Road America

Friday, July 31, 2020 – Highlands, NJ – After two top-five finishes in the past month in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, AIM Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is eager to score his first win of the season at Road America. Since IMSA’s return to racing, Montecalvo, alongside co-driver Townsend Bell, has scored a second-place finish at the Daytona 240 and a fifth-place finish at the Grand Prix of Sebring, but Montecalvo has set his target for P1 at Road America this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the track this weekend at Road America. I feel like we have been making strides, not only as a team but in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 specifically, to be able to go out and compete at the front,” said Montecalvo.

“I know myself, the rest of the crew, and Townsend are extremely hungry to get our first win, so I will be doing everything in my power to get us to that top step. I feel like we’ve been so close to a win last year, especially in the last two races this year, and either due to bad luck or the circumstances not aligning, we’ve come up short, but I really want it!”

“I think that Road America is going to be a good track for us. I love going there, and it’s one of the most beautiful tracks in the United States. It has a great flow, and I genuinely love driving at Road America. It’s one of those places that you can’t help but grin from ear to ear when you finish a session there because you’re just having so much fun like it should be.”

“I’m excited to get back to the track and behind the wheel this weekend. We’ll be doing everything we can to put on a good show for everyone there and at home, and I hope that we’ll bring the No. 12 Lexus across the line in first place on Sunday.”
