Montecalvo Ready to Start Fourth Season with Vasser Sullivan

Friday, January 21, 2022 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is looking forward to the start of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech season, which kicks off this weekend with the Roar Before the Rolex 24.

Montecalvo will embark on his fourth season with the Vasser Sullivan team. He will be joined in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 by Aaron Telitz for the full season, Richard Heistand for the endurance races, and Townsend Bell for the Rolex 24.

“I’m very happy to be back with Vasser Sullivan for the fourth year in a row. It’s great to start the season with a team, car, and co-drivers that you know so well,” said Montecalvo.

“This year will be slightly different with the new class structures of GTD Pro and GTD, but I’m looking forward to getting to Daytona and seeing where everyone stacks up at the test. There will be 22 cars in the GTD class, which our No. 12 car will run in, and another 13 in the GTD Pro class, so it’s safe to say that this will be the most competitive GTD field we’ve ever seen at Daytona.”

“It’s great to have Aaron Telitz back in the No 12. car this season. We will also be joined by Richard Heistand and Townsend Bell for the Roar and Rolex. Everyone in the car has a lot of experience in the Lexus RC F GT3, so I think we’re going to have a very strong line up.”

“Our main goals for the Roar are to get everyone back in the car and reacclimated. We would love to qualify for a top pole position in the Sunday race, but it’s most important to get the car set up as well as possible for the Rolex 24, stay out of trouble during all the sessions, and learn as much as we can to get us ready for the big show next weekend.”

Montecalvo is pleased to announce a new sponsor for the Roar and Rolex 24 weekends with SPARROW Executive Jet Charter.

“I’m thrilled to have SPARROW Executive Jets onboard for Daytona. SPARROW is a phenomenal company that makes traveling safe, comfortable, and efficient, and I couldn’t be happier to have them as a partner for Daytona.”

“We are honored to be sponsoring Frankie Montecalvo,” said Jacquie Dalton, Founder and CEO of SPARROW Executive Jet Charter.

“As a driver and a person, Frankie represents the qualities we most admire in our clients – dedication to his family and excellence in all his endeavors. We wish Frankie and the entire Vasser Sullivan and Lexus Racing Team a safe and successful showing at the Rolex 24 in Daytona.”

On track action for the Roar Before the 24 begins Friday, January 21 and continues through the weekend. A 100-minutes qualifying race will take place on Sunday, January 23, with the green flag flying at 2:05 PM EST. You can stream the race live on the Peacock App. Be sure to follow Frankie on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with all of his exciting racing news.
