Montecalvo Returns to Action at IMSA Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – September 17, 2025 – After a long summer break following a tough outing at Watkins Glen, Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is set to return to the cockpit of the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 for this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race — The Battle on the Bricks.

In years past, the penultimate round has been a standard race length, but this weekend will feature a 6-hour endurance race. Montecalvo will reunite with teammates Jack Hawksworth and Parker Thompson, forming a formidable trio for the endurance event at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“It feels like forever since Watkins Glen,” Montecalvo said ahead of the event. “Watkins didn’t end the way we wanted it to, which makes me even hungrier for a strong race result. I’m excited to be back in a race car and back with Jack, Parker and the entire Vasser Sullivan team for another round of endurance racing.”

The Battle on the Bricks marks Montecalvo’s return to the team for one of the final two endurance events of the 2025 season.

“Indy is a great track for the Lexus RC F GT3,” Montecalvo added. “With eighteen entries in the GTD field alone, the competition will be tight, but with Jack, Parker and myself, I think we have a really competitive group for the six hours.”

Montecalvo recently completed a successful test at the Brickyard and noted how much he enjoyed getting reacquainted with the car.

“We tested there a couple weeks ago. It took a few minutes to figure out where all the buttons were again,” he joked. “But all jokes aside, it was awesome to get back in the car. You don’t realize how much you miss it until you’re back behind the wheel — and then you’re like, ‘Wow, this is a lot of fun.’ I can’t wait to be back in the Lexus later this week, and we’ll be pushing as hard as we can for a first win of the season for the 12-car.”

The green flag flies for the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, September 22 at 11:40 AM ET, with six hours of racing on the iconic road course. Fans can tune in on Peacock and IMSA Radio to catch all the action at 11:30 AM ET. You can also catch the final 3 hours of the event on NBC Network at 3:00 PM ET on Sunday.
