Wednesday, January 22, 2025 – Highlands, NJ – Vasser Sullivan driver Frankie Montecalvo is set to kick off his 2025 racing campaign this weekend at the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona. After completing a successful Roar Before the 24 test last weekend, the New Jersey native will take part in the renowned 24-hour endurance race as part of his commitment to the 2025 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.
With a growing family and work commitments at Bayshore Family of Companies expanding each year, Montecalvo made the decision to race in the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds for the 2025 season. The five round schedule will allow Montecalvo to spend more time at home with his family and at Bayshore Family of Companies where Montecalvo oversees various projects and companies.
“I’m thrilled to be back at Daytona for the Rolex 24,” said Montecalvo. “It’s always an honor to be part of such an incredible event. I’m also excited to be racing for the Endurance Cup championship this year. I have two young children at home with my wife, and Bayshore has taken on several new, large scale projects, so making the jump to the endurance cup for the 2025 season made the most sense.”
“After a long off season, it was great to get back into the car for the Roar last weekend. We learned a lot over the three days of testing, and we feel like we’ll be in competitive position when we’re back on track for the first practice and qualifying sessions on Thursday.”
Montecalvo will share the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 with Jack Hawksworth and Parker Thompson, who will pilot the car for the full IMSA WeatherTech season. Kyle Kirkwood will complete the line-up for the Rolex 24 event.
“It’s great to be sharing the No. 12 Lexus with Jack and Parker for the endurance events and to have Kyle for the Rolex 24. We’ve all driven together in previous seasons in one capacity or another, and I think we’re going to have one of the strongest cars in the field.”
“Once again, the GTD field is the largest class in the race with twenty-two entries. It’s going to be one of the hardest classes to win, but I have no doubt that we have the crew, the car, and the line-up to do it. It’s always been a dream to stand at the top step of the podium at Daytona. We’ve come so close to a victory in the No. 12 car at the Rolex 24 in the past. I’m beyond ready to make that dream a reality on Sunday.”
On track action for the Rolex 24 begins Thursday, January 23 and continues through the weekend. You can watch qualifying on IMSA.tv or Peacock at 2:05 PM ET on Thursday, January 23. The Green Flag will be broadcast on NBC Network at 1:30 PM ET on Saturday, January 25. Peacock will stream the entire Rolex 24, and you can also catch the race on USA Network.
